Reese asked all week if we could go to the library (we usually go Thursday nights, but got off course because of the holidays). I told her that I'd take her Friday afternoon because Friday is my "short day" at work. We work 9 hour days M-Th and then only 4 on Friday...LOVE IT!
So, the plan was to go to the library on short day. Complications arose when I instead spent the afternoon at the ER with my Mom. Library plans never panned out and Reese never knew I copped out on her.
Saturday was spent taking down Christmas decorations. I know, I know, Christmas was over 3 weeks ago and my tree was is still up. I had good intentions of getting it down on Saturday but T convinced me that I needed to take a picture of the lights outside since this is the last year he's going to decorate out there - this is the 4th or 5th year he's said that, but this year he's serious :) So, I took all the ornaments off and packed them away, but left the tree - lights still on, naked and lonely in front of the window.
It started snowing yesterday, so we spent the day being lazy and lounging around the house. I went to visit Mom in the hospital, went to the grocery store and then made PW's Comfort Meatballs for dinner.
I've modified her sauce recipe a bit because T thought it was a little tangy. I'm not much of a meatloaf girl, but these meatballs are fantastic! I made mashed potatoes/gravy and steamed broccoli to go with them. For the sake of my diet, I'd like to say I ate more broccoli than mashed potatoes, but why lie to myself? I meant to take pictures of the meatball process, but like I said, it was a lazy day...and the picture of the house with all the lights on? Didn't happen either!
Poor tree's still there, it's empty branches beckoning me to put it away already, but my good intentions making it impossible for me to do so. I'll get that picture tonight, I'm sure.
Anybody do anything more exciting than me this weekend?
